The Climate Futures We Dare To Imagine

On 15 June 2026, newly appointed Regius Professor in Meteorology and Climate Science, and Academic Lead for IUCA, Professor Hannah L. Cloke OBE, delivered her first major public lecture since receiving one of the UK’s highest academic honours.

Part of Reading Climate Festival 2026, The Climate Futures We Dare To Imagine explored how science, collaboration and public engagement helps communities respond to a changing climate with ambition, resilience and hope. Hannah’s talk considered what is happening to our weather, and why; what this could mean for Reading and towns and cities like it across the country; and how science can put people in charge of their own futures, by helping communities to prepare and respond.

This event was livestreamed and you are now able to watch the recording. Hannah delivers her key note talk starting at 14 minutes and 15 seconds on the recording.
