Description: As the Amazon approaches critical ecological tipping points, the gap between scientific knowledge and durable policy action has never mattered more. This session explores how scientists, policymakers, and strategic partners can move beyond parallel tracks to build sustained, trust-based collaboration that addresses climate change realities, from increased extreme events to phenomena such as La Nina. What are mechanisms for creating trust among these diverse communities? How can scientific information best have effective uptake by policy-makers ? And how can Indigenous and local community-led science be considered in making climate policy decisions? This roundtable features leading climate researchers from the University of Colorado, government leaders from tropical forest regions, particularly the Amazon and Indonesia, and strategic partners. It will have brief presentations followed by an interactive moderated discussion among participants and the online audience.
