BEFORE THE BLUE ZONE: How Universities and IUCA Shape the Path to COP 31
IUCA GLOBAL THEMATIC DIALOGUE | 26 MARCH 2026
As we look ahead to COP31, universities have a critical role to play in shaping ambition and action. This dialogue will create space for IUCA members to reflect on and plan how we can be most effective in the lead-up to COP31. Discussions will focus around:
- Collective engagement across universities, including alignment of priorities, shared messaging, and collaborative initiatives;
- Internal engagement within universities, aligning leadership, researchers, and students around COP31 events and ambitions;
- Planning engagement in upcoming UNFCCC event, providing opportunities for universities to coordinate and collaborate in the coming months.
The session will emphasise early plannning and action. Our objective is to maximise the impact of higher education in the lead-up to, and during, COP31.
We encourage all IUCA members to register and participate as we begin shaping IUCA’s collective approach for 2026. This event is an IUCA Member only event. We encourage you to share the invite with individuals within your institution who you know will be engaging in UNFCCC/COP events this year, especially your UNFCCC POC if your institution has observer status (if appropriate).
