Description: In this introductory session we show how the week’s themes — transport, energy, buildings, food and land, and the rest — link into one system, then use En-ROADS (Climate Interactive with MIT Sloan) to find, live, the handful of policy moves that shift the temperature curve most. We introduce positive and negative tipping points and the through-line for the week: government as regulator, funder, demonstrator and enabler, acting at every level from national to household. The session will also provide a very brief overview on the current state of global climate regime and current political institutions and legal framework related to climate adaptation and mitigation.
