Climate and Health - The Role of Higher Education
Coming Soon in March 2025
Please contact the Secretariat if you would like to get involved.
Recognising the need for urgent action, the World Health Organisation’s response to climate change is centred around three objectives: to promote actions that both reduce carbon emissions and improve health; to build better, more climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable health systems; and to protect health from the wide range of impacts of climate change.
- What role can universities play in mitigating the impact climate change has on human health?
- How can higher education enable health systems to be climate-resilient, low carbon, sustainable and equitable?
- What can academic insights reveal about the health impacts of mitigation and adaptation actions?
- How will climate and health impacts influence higher education teaching and operations?
As this is an online Global Thematic Dialogue, we are provisionally offering two time zone options. You will be asked to indicate your preference when registration opens in early 2025.
