The International Green Gown Awards are supported by UN Environment Programme and are open to any university or college across the world.

The International Universities Climate Alliance proudly supports the International Green Gown Awards, recognising higher education institutions at the forefront of climate action and sustainability. This year, we are honoured to be a category ambassador for the 2030 Climate Action, showcasing your impact and driving forward the global sustainability agenda. This is an opportunity to showcase your impact and inspire a greener future for the sector. 

Recognising exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by the world's universities and colleges, the International Green Gown Awards set the bar and put every learning institution at the heart of delivering the UN Global Goals.

Now in their 11th year, the 2025 Awards were launched in February 2025 and winners will be announced in October 2025.
